Evidence of Transformation Emerging in Alaska & Kansas

By Tim Taylor
In 1999 the Sentinel Group produced the first Transformation video. One of the testimonies they highlighted was Alomonga Guatemala where George Otis Jr. reported about the remarkable changes occurring within that community that pointed towards transformation. In 1999 the Sentinel Group produced the first Transformation video. One of the testimonies they highlighted was Alomonga Guatemala where George Otis Jr. reported about the remarkable changes occurring within that community that pointed towards transformation. Two of the things that stood out besides many people accepting Christ as their Lord and savior was that the number of jails in the town decreased dramatically and they also reported how much the land was producing. The vegetables were huge.

I recently received two reports from CONECTers that caused me to remember the testimony from Alomonga. On October 2, 2009 Kathy Conn, our CONECTer in Wasilla Alaska, gave me her regular report. For those of you who have followed the testimony of what God has done in Alaska you will recall that my first trip to Wasilla (April 30 to May 3, 2009) was marked by three days of record high temperatures. Those record high temperatures occurred during the time I presented Operation Rolling Thunder and CONECT. One day even broke a 40 year high.

Kathy's report included great news about reconciliation with the First Nations, the progress of the ORT 24/7 prayer strategy and then comments about the remarkable fruitfulness of the land. The moose season was especially good this year, a fishing ground that had been closed for 15 years was finally opened for dip net fishing, and she reported that some world records were set at the Alaska State Fair. In fact, a man from Wasilla grew a 125.9 lb cabbage. It set a world record. In addition there were two rutabagas that set world records too (79 lbs and 82.9 lbs). Several state records were also broken such as a 17 lb mushroom.

In fact, I just received a Facebook communication from Rob Gamel on November 9, 2009 reporting that they still have not had any snow yet. That is remarkable for them. Operation Rolling Thunder (ORT) began in Alaska in March of 2009 when Freedom in Christ in the North Pole invited me to Alaska to Kick Off the strategy. In their first month of ORT the North Pole/Fairbanks area recorded the highest number of earthquakes they had ever recorded in a month; over 1100. In early May the Valley Pastor Prayer Network invited me to Wasilla/Palmer to do the same. All together, the churches cooperating together have mobilized more than 400 days of 24/7 prayer over their state.

Breaking News - Nov. 8, 2009 - Anchorage Daily News - Alaska Gold Production Highest Since 1916's Gold Rush. This report was received in my office on November 12 and we have added it after this article was published. One more piece of evidence that points to transformation and the blessing that comes on a land and a people when they seek God's presence continually and hearken to obey God's voice (Deut. 28:1-12).

Deuteronomy 28:8 "The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

Kansas Reports

On October 6th, just four days later, I received a similar report from Donna Lippoldt, our State CONECTer in Kansas. For context, recall that Kansas began mobilizing in December of 2008. On April 6, 2009 they launched the strategy which was followed by reports of decreasing crime in Wichita, Topeka, reconciliation with First Nations, remarkable numbers of salvations, a seven year drought was broken and more. But on October 6th, Donna reported that "Grass & Grain," reported in a September 29, 2009 on page 9 that, "With unsold winter wheat in grain elevators across parts of the Great Plains, the area is bracing for expected bumper fall harvests of corn, sorghum and soybeans. The good winter wheat crop this summer will be followed by record harvests of these other crops. They are expecting to have grain placed on the ground in some areas. Poor crops in Oklahoma and Texas have made some room in elevators in Oklahoma; Oklahoma had a terrible wheat crop and the corn burned up in June. Texas also suffered significant drought..." The elevators are overflowing.

What Connects These Two Reports?

Two reports, two different states, different reports, yet the same in so many ways coming at the same time. They sound a lot like the testimony from Alomonga Guatemala in the Transformation video. What is the common thing that connects these two testimonies?

  • Operation Rolling Thunder Strategy
    • The simple yet powerful 24/7 prayer strategy for a community
    • Gathering the elders at the gates fo each city to form a Transformation Task Force
  • A people willing to follow the powerful 24/7 strategy
  • A people willing to honor the leaders and gifts God has given. Honor is critical.

What Have We Learned

First, I don't go looking for signs and wonders. There are ministries like the Sentinel Group that do. Sentinel Group does a great job researching and reporting on what God has done. They are called to analyze and teach what they learn from history. I am not an analyst. God called me to be a catalyst. Operation Rolling Thunder is a "catalatic" strategy. It empowers others to mobilize a people passionate about transforming their community through the presentation of the gospel of the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Like I said, I don't go looking for signs and wonders. But, signs and wonders follow me as I deliver the message and strategy God gave me in CONECT and Operation Rolling Thunder. Like Mark 16:17 says, these signs shall follow them that believe. We learned that the same signs that follow me, also follow others who carry the same message and apply the same strategy. God wants His leaders gathered at the gates of each city and He also wants 24/7prayer, praise and worship going on in each city too. This is what King David did and God wants us to do the same today.

This can be done in any city where local congregations choose to honor each other and cooperate together. I hope you, your church and your city will join us in 2010.

Be a history maker this year! Use this catalatic strategy to mobilize the Church in your city.
